However, it was later discovered that the opposite is impossible: users can’t delete their Instagram account while retaining their Threads account. According to the Threads Supplemental Privacy Policy, Threads is a service provided by Instagram and is a part of the Instagram platform. Therefore, deleting an Instagram account in this scenario is not possible, although it may become possible in the future if Meta decides to make it work.
Before we proceed with the steps to delete your Threads account, I would like to clarify something important. Deleting and deactivating are two different actions that serve different purposes. If you choose to delete your account, it will be permanently removed from Instagram’s database. On the other hand, if you deactivate your account, it will be temporarily frozen until you decide to reactivate it.

How to Delete or Deactivate Your Threads Account
Deleting your threads account is familiar to how you delete your other social media accounts. Here is the steps:
Step 1: Tap your profile picture to head to settings.
Step 2: Click Settings > Account, then tap Deactivate or delete profile.
Step 3: If you want to Delete, tap Delete Threads profile or tap Deactivate Threads profile to deactivate. Confirm to complete the process.
