Virtual Infosec Africa (VIA), in partnership with global cybersecurity firm Exabeam, has rolled out Africa’s first subscription-based Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) service—a move set to change how Ghanaian businesses and public institutions defend against cyber threats.
The initiative is hosted at VIA’s managed security site at the National Information Technologies Agency (NITA) in Accra. It promises to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity both accessible and affordable for Ghanaian businesses, government agencies, and utilities.
Bringing Enterprise Security to SMEs
VIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Emmanuel Asiedu Sekyere, described the subscription model as a breakthrough for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have long lacked the resources to defend against sophisticated cyber threats.
“SMEs have been exposed without the means to defend themselves. Now, they can access the same AI-driven monitoring, detection, and compliance tools used by global corporations—without the financial strain,” Mr. Asiedu said.
The pay-monthly model allows organizations to spread costs over time while benefiting immediately from Exabeam’s next-generation platform, which uses artificial intelligence to detect and respond to threats in real time. The service also comes with pre-financing options tailored to Ghana’s local industry needs.
Strengthening National Security
Beyond business benefits, the initiative carries weight for Ghana’s national cybersecurity posture. As the country accelerates its digital transformation and expands public e-services, the resilience of its cyber infrastructure becomes a matter of national interest.
“This isn’t just a business solution—it’s a national safeguard,” Mr. Asiedu said. “We’re helping build a digitally secure Ghana, one subscription at a time.”
He noted that reducing cyber risks helps companies protect customer trust, maintain operations, and avoid costly recovery. For startups and growing firms, such protection could be the difference between survival and collapse in the face of an attack.
Cybercriminals are not slowing down, and Ghanaian organizations are increasingly in their crosshairs. VIA and Exabeam’s subscription-based SIEM service provides a practical, cost-effective solution to one of the digital age’s most pressing challenges.
“Cybercriminals don’t wait,” Mr. Asiedu said. “And now, Ghana doesn’t have to either.”
