Data belonging to Egypt’s National Social Insurance Authority is said to have been breached and leaked on the data web.
DarkEye, a cybersecurity intelligence company, announced on X that they’ve detected a breach of the Authority’s data of over 107,086 records being exposed. Data includes full names, mother’s names, national ID and insurance numbers, residential addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and plaintext passwords used on nosi[.gov[.eg].
According to a dark web screenshot, the data was published on April 27, 2025.

Egypt’s National Social Insurance Authority is the government agency responsible for administering the country’s social insurance programs. It oversees the collection of contributions and disbursement of pensions, benefits, and compensations for workers in public and private sectors. The authority manages insurance related to old age, disability, death, work injuries, and unemployment.
The said breach reinstates a growing trend of data leakages in government agencies in Africa, with recent cases involving North African countries: Morocco, and now Egypt.
Last month, Morocco’s National Social Security Agency (CNSS) computer systems were under attack by an Algerian hacker who eventually got access to the Authority’s data and proceeded to leak it.
We await an official response from Egypt’s National Social Insurance Authority concerning the breach, and if they do, this article will be updated.
