XA Network, an investment network in Southeast Asia, has announced its expansion into Africa with the launch of XA Africa. This expansion aims to foster innovation and support promising startups across Africa.
The expansion was masterminded by three tech professionals including Nitin Gajria (former MD of Google Sub-Saharan Africa), Jason Scott(venture capitalist and an architect of the Black Founders Fund at Google), and Marek Dawidowicz (current Marketing Director at YouTube, and South African native).
The Words of Nitin Gajria, Co-Founder of XA Africa “Founders of technology startups in Africa are uniquely placed to solve some of Africa’s most profound challenges and unlock its greatest opportunities. We see the foray of XA Network into Africa as a natural progression, allowing us to connect amazing founders to experienced and expert operators from the tech industry”
Track record of XA Network
Making nearly 100 investments in Southeast Asia, XA Network has constantly been recognized as the leading investment network in the region. Established in 2018, the company has positioned itself as a dominant investment network in the region, and its expansion to Africa speaks volumes, given its track record.
Notable investment made for African startups
The newly established XA Africa has already made notable investments in promising African startups, including Crop2Cash (Nigeria), BuuPass (Kenya), Kaya (South Africa), and Talamus Health (Ghana).
Another ambition of XA Africa is to connect African tech founders with seasoned investors and industry experts (from global and regional technology companies) to provide not just capital but also the guidance and support needed to scale their ventures.
What’s the way forward?
XA Africa will organize a public demo day webinar set for November 7, 2024, where Africa-focused investors will have the opportunity to meet with four African startups and explore potential investment opportunities.
